Daily habit tracker & streak reminder for Chrome
Privacy Policy
The short version
- Everything Streak Anywhere records stays in your own browser.
- No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
- We run no servers and never receive, sell or share your data.
- Only the sites you choose to track are recorded — as dates, never page content.
- You can export or delete all of it at any time.
1. What the extension stores
Streak Anywhere ("the extension", "we") keeps only what it needs to count your daily visits and
show your progress. All of it is saved on your device with Chrome's extension storage
(chrome.storage.local).

| Visit dates | The calendar dates on which you visited each tracked site. No times, full URLs, page titles or page content. |

| Awards and records | Which awards you unlocked and when, which ones you've already seen, and your longest streak. |
| Settings | Reminder time and options, sound pack and volume, theme, accent colour, visit counting and sort order. |
| Housekeeping | Whether today's reminder was already sent, whether today was already celebrated, the last version you opened, and — only while dwell time is on — the site currently being timed. |
2. What it never collects
- Your browsing history. The address of the active tab is checked in memory to see if it matches a site you track; addresses of untracked sites are never saved.
- The content of any web page, what you type, passwords, cookies or form data.
- Your name, email address, location, contacts or any other personal information.
- Usage analytics, crash reports, advertising identifiers or device fingerprints.
3. Permissions and why they are needed
Tabs
Reads the address of the tab you are viewing, only to check whether it belongs to a site you chose to track so the day's visit can be counted. It also lets the popup offer "Track this site" and open your tracked sites when you ask.
Storage
Saves the data listed in section 1 on your device.
Alarms
Schedules your daily reminder, the optional 11 PM last-call reminder, one-hour snoozes and a daily clean-up of old data.
Notifications
Shows streak reminders, award unlocks and "day complete" messages. Each type can be switched off in the extension's settings.
Offscreen
Plays the optional reminder and award sounds. The sounds are generated inside the extension; nothing is recorded and the microphone is never used.
Favicon
Shows each tracked website's icon in the popup using Chrome's own local icon cache. The extension makes no network request to fetch icons.
4. Optional Chrome Sync
Cross-device sync is off by default. If you switch it on, your tracked sites, visit dates,
freezes, awards and records are copied to chrome.storage.sync so they appear in Chrome
on your other computers signed in to the same Google account. That transfer is handled by Google's
Chrome Sync service under the Google Privacy Policy;
we never receive the data. You can switch sync off in settings at any time.
5. Sharing and selling
- We do not sell, rent, trade or share your data with anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions or any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose: helping you build daily habits on the websites you choose.
- Share cards and backup files are created on your device and only leave it if you choose to save, copy or send them.
Streak Anywhere's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Your control over your data
- See it: everything the extension keeps is shown in the popup.
- Export it: Settings → Data → Export backup saves a JSON file.
- Delete part of it: remove a tracked site to delete its history.
- Delete all of it: Settings → Data → Reset all data, or uninstall the extension, which removes its local storage.
7. Retention
Visit and freeze dates older than 365 days are deleted automatically. Your longest-streak record is kept so it survives this clean-up. Everything else stays until you delete it or uninstall the extension.
8. Security and remote code
Your data never leaves your browser unless you turn on Chrome Sync. The extension requests only the permissions described above. It does not load or execute remotely hosted code — all JavaScript is packaged with the extension and reviewed by the Chrome Web Store.
9. Children
Streak Anywhere is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
10. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
